High-Protein Kitchen Upgrade: Pan-Seared Curryleaf Podi Paneer Tikka

Skip the heavy cream marinades when you want a clean, protein-dense evening starter or a quick post-workout bite. Curryleaf Podi Paneer Tikka brings a crisp, herb-infused South Indian crust to soft cottage cheese cubes in under 15 minutes.

Curry leaves are natural powerhouses loaded with iron, antioxidants, and compounds that support healthy digestion. Slow-roasted with traditional lentils and stone-ground into our signature Curryleaf Podi, they form an aromatic, textured crust that seals in the paneer’s moisture while delivering an earthy crunch in every single bite.

15-Minute Pan-Seared Curryleaf Podi Paneer

● Prep Time: 5 minutes
● Cook Time: 8 minutes
● Total Time: 13 minutes
● Servings: 2
● Dietary: High-Protein, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Keto-Friendly

Ingredients

● 200g Fresh Malai Paneer, cut into 1-inch cubes
● 2.5 tbsp Podi & Pachadi Handcrafted Curryleaf Podi
● 1 tbsp Thick curd (yogurt) or 1 tsp fresh lemon juice (to bind)
● 1 tbsp Cold-pressed sesame oil or melted desi ghee
● 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
● 1 pinch Salt (optional, adjusted to taste)
● 1 Lemon wedge & sliced red onions (for serving)

Instructions

1. Coat the Paneer: In a mixing bowl, combine the paneer cubes with thick curd (or lemon juice), turmeric powder, and 2 tablespoons of Podi & Pachadi Curryleaf Podi. Gently fold so the spice blend coats every side evenly. Let it rest for 5 minutes.

2. Heat the Skillet: Warm the cold-pressed sesame oil or ghee in a heavy cast-iron pan or flat tawa over medium-high heat.

3. Pan-Sear the Cubes: Place the coated paneer cubes in a single layer without overcrowding. Sear each side for 1.5 to 2 minutes until golden brown with a crisp herbal crust. Avoid overcooking to maintain a tender center.

4. Dust the Finish: Just before taking the pan off the flame, sprinkle the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of Curryleaf Podi across the cubes to release fresh, toasted aromatics.

5. Plate and Serve: Transfer to a platter, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top, and serve warm with thinly sliced red onions.

Tofu Swap: For a 100% plant-based, vegan variation, swap out paneer for extra-firm pressed tofu. Curryleaf Podi adheres exceptionally well to tofu, making it a stellar dairy-free lunchbox option.
